The Great Hot Dog Cookoff donated all net proceeds from the 2012 event to the Food Bank For New York City to help address the needs of the three million New Yorkers who are having trouble affording food and might otherwise go hungry. To date, the Cookoff has donated over $35,000 to local charities.

We've had 24 teams of amateur chefs competing in 2012 + our first ever Pro-Row mini competition sponsored by The Brooklyn Kitchen. Pros included Gramercy Tavern, Mile End, Marlow & Daughters, The Meat Hook and Brooklyn Bangers.

We were fortunate to be invited by Acumen Capital Partners to use the space at their new home at the former Pfizer factory in South Williamsburg. This property which spans a city block is becoming a center for burgeoning food businesses like McClure’s, Kombucha Brooklyn, Steve’s Ice Cream and People's Pops.
